Nancy O'Dell's radio career started as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police regarding DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. O'Dell later worked at the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. O'Dell is a leading anchor for Access Hollywood. In addition she is a contributor in NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She's covered events such including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of Pre-ShowArrivals shows for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
